ARTS EXHIBITION
Organised by
Carterton Lions Club
To be held at the Carterton Community Centre
Trefoil Way, Shilton Park. Carterton. OX18 3AT
From the 17th to the 21st February 2010
Dear Members of Eynsham Arts Group
Carterton Lions Club intends holding an Art Exhibition, in the new Carterton Community Centre from the 17th to the 21st February 2010.
As this is an open exhibition it is hoped that many artists will submit work. This may be in any medium, except photography, either framed or unframed, but preferably work completed in the last three years
We are hoping to display the talent of artists from Oxfordshire and nearby areas.
I should be delighted if your members would consider submitting their work and supporting the event. Perhaps you would be kind enough to bring this to their
attention and also include the dates in your next programme.
Details and entry forms may be obtained by contacting the organiser, Michael Lowe, mlandjd@tiscali.co.uk 01993 842354. Alternatively you may like to e-mail me at maddy@johnradburn.org.uk. We do hope to hear from you and any colleagues who may be interested.
Yours sincerely

Wanted: Drawing of Swinford Lock
The Art Group has been asked if we’d like to supply a drawing of the Swinford Lock to be printed on an Apron which will then be sold to raise money for the church hall. The apron will have several images on it, the toll bridge image shown here is one of the other ones, so the style of the artwork needs to be similar to this.
The image should be black and white only (ink), A4 in size/proportions and landscape/horizontal.
Images need to be ready by the end of July and delivered to Doreen Hockedy 22 Clover Place, Eynsham (01865 880919) A ‘winning’ design will then be selected.
If several Group members want to drive down to the lock to do some drawing on site you’ll need to call Nick the lockkeeper (01865 881324) and Mr & Mrs Sayle (01865 882949) who own the house at the top of the driveway that leads down to the lock…they’ll unlock the gates for you to get in.
If you require any further information please contact Doreen.

January Meeting
Jane Thompson and Mary Fletcher have offered to demonstrate some new pastels at our January meeting,
A new format of packaging for pastel pigment has just come on the market. Mary and Jane will show you how it differs from the traditional sticks of pastel and will bring enough paper for you to try them for yourselves.
This demonstration will be in addition to our usual show and tell, so don’t forget to bring along all the artwork you’ve been working on over the festive period.

Welcome to the Eynsham Arts Group Blog!!!
This will replace the front page on the old website.
More people can now add news stories to the site and anyone can add comments.
I’m going to add a few pretty pictures here and there to make it look at bit more interesting and then re do the main website so it looks and functions like this page.
I’ll also be including some new elements such as a competitions page… If anyone has any suggestions…or complains, add a comment below.
